The light arrived today in a timely manner and after testing it it does work. However this light appears to be used. The solar panel is somewhat scratched and all parts of light needed cleaning.

This item provides enough light to not bump into things in the dark, but you won’t be finding things in that dark corner of your shed with it. Our shed does not have electricity so this was a welcome addition rather than running electrical to it, I just wish it were a little brighter. It was easy to mount and it comes on every time we pull the cord what more could we ask?

I put this in my shed and I’m surprised by how well this little light illuminates the whole interior.
I found the screws aren’t easy to use like the one to tighten the position of the solar panel. You need to mount the panel but then you can’t tighten the screw that holds the solar panel in position. That was a little annoying.
I wouldn’t mind a better switch for the light. A hanging string is a little too 1950’s for me. I like a switch. I was thinking of even cracking it open and putting my own switch in but in the end I went with the string.
These days I would not get anything but LED for these types of things. The performance is so much better than anything else out there. Very low wattage that last forever.
If you hang the solar panel on the side of the shed I suggest hanging it upside down. It seems to angle better that way and gravity won’t work against you.

I purchased this over the holidays and put this in my dad’s shed. It was very easy to install and once it charged I was pleasantly surprised with the performance. Although it’s not a light that you would work by, in my father’s 12×15 shed it lit it up quite nicely so that you could easily see everything inside. I plan on purchasing one of these for my shed also.

Ordered the solar light in December 09, the 6 inch “L’ bracket is in the package but with no instructions. If you will look closely at the grey plastic mounting bracket one of the slots has a flat side. Slide the L bracket into the hole with flat side, is it used to “hang” over a 2X4 or other support and tighten with the nut run down on the threads instead of using screws to secure the base. Used the solar light in our camphouse- “Alamo”. It had charged for several weeks, to be honest it worked great, we had more than enough light with the 5 led lights on. We turned the light on and off as needed so I cannot attest to the amount of run time we will have overall. I do recommend this product. We used a couple of the battery powered “candles”-they actually flicker- ($5)from Walmart as night lights around the door and outside to see when getting up during the night.
