Combining Solar And Wind Power: Start Conserving Energy Today

Energy issues are so high-sounding nowadays. Although in Physics, energy is one quantity that is conserved and by conserved we mean that the “sum of all energies in the universe remains constant,” it is not the case with our daily lives. We are being told over and over again to conserve energy. This time, the term conserved here means another thing; it means “preserve”. We have to save energy or the sources of energy, so they say. Well, if the energy of the universe remains constant, then where did the rest of the energy go? In layman’s terms, most of the useful energy in the universe has now been transformed into not-so-useful energy. Not-so-useful energy example is thermal energy, which explains global warming. So in one way or another, it is right to say that we should conserve energy. One way to do that is to make use of the most abundant energy sources like the sun and the wind or by combining solar and wind power.

History and use of wind energy as an Alternative Energy / Documentary Video

Wind as an energy alternative / Educational Video. Department of Energy. Produce by the Solar Energy Research Institute. Wind: An Alternative Energy. This program examines the history and use of wind power, which has been used for centuries by humans to move boats, pump water and grind grain including discussions on efficiency, problems in the urban environment, experimental systems and windmill use by transverse the United States. Producer: Department of Energy. Creative Commons license: Public Domain. Surprisingly good short film about wind energy. What makes it valuable interviews with Marcellus Jacobs (a builder of wind turbines in the 1930s) and Ted Finch is (his efforts was the concept of net metering legally permitted in the U.S.). It is interesting that one of the persons listed in the credits, Paul Gipe, still working in the industry. He is now a leading author on the subject. His website is www. Wind plant. org

Wind Power–The Best Green Energy Source

Electricity produced by wind turbines is green power in that it causes no environmental pollution. No greenhouse gases which contribute to climate change are produced either. Wind power generation can be on a large scale, which is the case with most commercial projects,or on a small scale as with home owner turbines.

How Wind Power and Solar Energy Can Save You Thousands Annually

Utilizing wind power and solar energy or the power coming from the sun’s rays has many benefits. Let us take a closer look on each of them.

•Solar energy saves money.

In 2006, we saw the highest jump on residential electric rate. In some areas of the country, as
much as a 60% increase was seen. Some cities in the state of Florida experienced an increase just this month (Jan-09) to start out the new year with. Many experts agree that the trend will likely continue in the years to come. This means that you have to pay larger sums of cash to sustain your monthly electric consumption. However by producing your own power, with the use of eitherwind power, solar energy or both you can prevent paying the high cost of energy – especially now when energy prices Keep fluctuating. Should American households switch to other types of alternative energy the nation’s spending on imported oil will diminish greatly.

Residential Solar Power – How to Make Your Own Energy

The simple fact is that we cannot depend on oil and fossil fuels for our energy forever. Many people are already starting to realize this and are beginning to switch to residential solar power.

Using residential solar power may seem complicated but it’s simpler than you might think. I personally know people that aren’t as smart (or as good looking) as you and they have built their own solar power system.

DIY Wind Power Generators & Turbines – Slash Your Energy Bills and Reduce Your Carbon Emmissions At the Same Time!

Wind power is an excellent weapon for fighting climate change because wind generation produces no carbon emissions at all. When you consider that every unit of energy generated by wind, is a unit of energy free of carbon pollution, wind makes sense. Producing just 10 per cent of electricity from renewables could cut carbon emissions by 2.5 million tonnes a year.
